Make the most of the shortest day of the year and ring in the winter season with a series of ranger-led hikes. Plan to hike one or all to hear more about the upcoming seasonal changes you'll see around the park and traditions of the solstice.

Please dress for the weather. Trails are somewhat stroller friendly-assistance maybe be needed on some portions. Child carriers are recommended. Well behaved pets on a 6-ft leash are welcome. All trails are hard-packed gravel/earth. Sunrise 7:20 a.m. to Sunset 4:56p.m.

Hike #1: 7 - 9 a.m. Beaver Lake Trail (2.5 miles). Meets at Visitor Center.
Hike #2: 9:30 - 11 a.m. Ground Pine Path (1 mile). Meet at Visitor Center.
Hike #3: 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Powhatan Trail Loop (1 mile). Meet at Playground by Pool.
Hike #4: 1:45 - 3 p.m. Co-Op Trail Loop (2 miles). Meet at Boat Launch.
Hike #5: 3:30 - 5 p.m. Big Poplar and Beaver Lake Trails (1.5 miles). Meet at Visitor Center.
