Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

The holiday season is upon us. Chippokes State Park and the Friends of Chippokes (FOC) would like to extend a special invitation to you and yours, to come on out and visit with us, to celebrate, be merry, and spread holiday cheer. All are welcome! This special event is guaranteed fun for the whole family to enjoy.

Special activities and programming will include: Jones-Stewart Mansion Tours, Brick Kitchen: Hearth Cooking, Holiday Ornament Making Workshops, Holiday Music, Festive Hay Rides, and photos with Santa Claus & Ranger Redfox. Christmas cookies and hot chocolate will also be served.

This event is rain, frost, or shine.
