Spring Break at Leesylvania State park

School is out and Spring is here. Join Rangers at Leesylvania State Park  on a week long of Nature adventures.

Monday. Self Guided Nature Bingo: There are lots of sights to see at Leesylvania. Stop by the visitor center to pick pick up a bingo sheet. Go through the park crossing off sights along the way. Once you have Bingo, return to the visitor to pick up a prize! We have prizes for youth of all ages!  Visitor Center Open from 10 am - 5 pm.

Tuesday at  11 am. Furs, Skulls, and Feathers, Oh My! Every animal has unique features and traits that make them special and suited for their natural environment. Join park rangers to learn more about the animals that call Leesylvania their home.  

Wednesday at 1 pm.  Making Tracks: There are lots of wildlife scurrying around the park that you often do not see. However, these animals tend to leave their footprints behind.  Come to the Visitor Center to learn more about these animals and make your very own animal tracks.

Thursday at  1 pm. April 6. Nature Journaling : Explore the various ways you can connect with the Earth through keeping a nature journal. We  lead a short hike with time to sit,  reflect and create art in your journal.   Paper will be supplied, or feel free to bring your own supplies. 

Friday April 7 at 11 am. Children's Discovery Hike: Families join us on an nature adventure through our most popular trail, The Potomac Trail. We will have, magnifying glasses, bug catching tools and more gear to help children connect to nature and discover the fun of being outdoors.The trail is stroller friendly.

Remember

Please meet at the visitor center for all programs  and don't forget a reusable water bottle!  Dress for the weather.
