Calling all homeschoolers to join the rangers at Pocahontas State Park for monthly programs on the third Monday of the month. These hands-on programs are designed for the whole family and will introduce everyone to a variety of nature-themed activities.
October 17th: Heroes of the Night Sky - Bats are amazing animals that help keep our forests and farms healthy by eating insects. Learn how we can help them by providing habitat and safe places to live.
Cost is $3/child, with ages 3 and under free of charge. Parking fees are waived. Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes for hiking. Pack a picnic and enjoy the park afterwards. Programs run from 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
