This is a hands-on rocking experience. Learn how to recognize rocks commonly found in Virginia. Find out how to determine the hardness of different rocks and minerals. What is the difference between a rock, a mineral, a gem, an ore, and a metal? We will use some apps to identify rocks, mine for minerals and gems, and learn how to start your own collection. Bring some of your own rocks to learn to identify or perhaps even show off!
