Register through the park office by noon on the Tuesday of your choice for an activity of your choice from the Request a Ranger (RaR) menu. Some activities will have a small fee, other are free of charge. The location of the activity will be determined by the ranger and held either at a location in the park or, for overnight guests, at your campsite or cabin. Most RaR activities are suitable for those with mobility impairments. Phone registration through the park office is available 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 804-492-4410.

The October menu titles include: Spectacular Snakes, Secrets of the Shell (turtles), Game On (fun games from days gone by), The Beauty of Beavers, Bear Necessities, Discovery Hike, Basic Archery ($5 per person. Minimum age 8 years old), and Fish Printing (craft, $2 per person, $6 for four people).

Only one RaR activity is available per day on a "first come, first served" basis. For more information on the activities or to request a specific topic that is not on the menu, please contact: bcguide@dcr.virginia.gov.
