Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Join us on this World Rivers and American Rivers Day by gliding along the smooth waters of Mulberry Creek. Daytime is a great time to view wildlife both in the air and water as rangers lead our group of canoe participants along Belle Isle's shoreline. Skill levels from beginner to experienced welcome. 
Space is limited, so register by calling the park at (804) 462-5030. Children must be at least 8 years old. Please dress appropriately for the weather; bug repellent / sunscreen is recommended. $11 per person.
