Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Journey across Bear Creek Lake in a canoe to experience a different side of the park. No prior canoe experience is necessary and all equipment is provided, though children under 6 years of  age must provide their own approved life jacket. Advance registration through the park office and payment of the $5 per person program fee is required. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible guardian. Close-toed footwear with at least a heel strap is required.
