Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Take a canoe tour on the beautiful Lower Chippokes Creek! A great location to spot otters, herons, and turtles. Space is limited.  Register and pay at the Visitor Center before 9 am the day of the event. Program meets at the Farm and Forestry Museum parking lot.  $12 per person or $10 per person in a group of 4 or more. Program age is limited to ages 6 and up.  Participants 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult. All equipment including life vests, paddles, and canoes will be provided. Bring water, wear shoes, and dress for the weather. No pets allowed.
