Try to catch different species of fish from the Shenandoah River. We will learn about native fish and the importance of preserving the river. This is a great event for families with children and guests hoping to catch fish for the first time. Rods, bait and tackle are provided by the park but guests are also free to bring them. We recommend bringing small chairs or camp stools. For participants under 16, no license is required. Participants 16 and older will need to have or obtain a valid Virginia fishing license before the event. All other fishing regulations also apply. This event has a 10 person limit, and we require that guests sign up in advance. Sign up in person at the Visitor Center or by phone at 540-622-6840. Meet at the Visitor Center, and we will take a roughly 20 minute wagon ride to our fishing spot.
