When you picture a bat, you probably think of a vampire-like creature that roams the earth looking for its next victim, but bats are not like that at all. They are actually incredibly beneficial to our ecosystem, and some of them are kind of cute.
Join a ranger and a Virginia Master Naturalist for a relaxing evening to learn about these amazing creatures and how you can invite them to your area. If you're lucky, you might even see a few at this event. Our visiting Master Naturalist can demonstrate a listening device that identifies different kinds of bats by their unique ultrasonic calls that are beyond the range of human hearing. The program will be held in the picnic area in the center of the Camp Paradise parking access.
