The Perseids meteor shower can be a spectacular mid-Summer show on a warm August night, but it is always a good evening out on High Bridge when park hours are extended for special night programs. The Earth will be travelling through a field of particles left behind by a recent comet, but the resulting meteors will be competing with light from a nearly full moon. We might get lucky enough to see a big fireball or two that are bright enough to be easy to see in spite of the moon's brightness. If that fails to happen, at least we will have a beautiful moon over High Bridge if the sky is clear. We can still listen for various species of frogs, owls, and katydids singing in the night even if it is cloudy. High Bridge always has something of value to give to our visitors
