Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Try to catch different species of fish in the Shenandoah River. We'll learn about native fish and the importance of preserving the river. This is a great program for families with children and people looking to catch fish for the first time. Meet at the Visitor Center, and we will take a wagon ride to the fishing spot. Rods, bait and tackle are provided. For participants under 16 no fishing license is required. All other fishing regulations apply. This program has a 10 person limit. Call 540-622-6840 in advance to reserve a spot. Meet at the Visitor Center.
