Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Take a 4 hour guided tour through Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge and False Cape State Park! Spot wildlife from the Blue Goose Tram and learn the history of this spectacular area. Participants can be dropped off at the visitor center at False Cape and picked up at the False Cape Visitor Center by the trams on the way back to the refuge, or guests can continue with the tram to the Wash Woods church and cemetery site for a guided hike (1 mile round trip). Please note, the tram does not transport campers.

Cost: $8 per person, $5 entrance fee for Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge per car. Reservations are required. Make reservations by calling the park at (757) 426-7128 during Visitor Center hours (9 am to 4 pm).

To protect the safety of participants and staff: Participants MUST wear a face covering on the tram.
