Earth Day - Forest Investment

Location of Bear Creek Lake State Park in Virginia

Where

Bear Creek Lake State Park, 22 Bear Creek Lake Rd., Cumberland, VA 23040.
Legacy Wayside

When

April 24, 2022. 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

The theme for the 2022 Earth Day is "Invest in our Planet". In the 1930s, the reinvigoration of Virginia’s forests was not just to address human land use failures of the past but to focus on ways to invigorate the earth that provides for our survival. That’s why we say: “Bear Creek Lake State Park is a legacy handed down and held in safeguard for future generations.” People made the investment, and trees have done the work. At this ranger-led program, we’ll see how trees play a role in our future through their biology that benefits the health of the environment.
