During the Great Depression members of the Civilian Conservation Corps worked to restore the land and build parks across the country. The boys of the CCC built the original six Virginia State Parks including Westmoreland.

This 3 mile (roughly), ranger guided hike will explore the legacy of the CCC by touring many of the structures they left behind.

If you'd like to participate at your own pace attached is the PDF version of the self guided hike.

Water fountain built by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Stacked stones make a circular catch basin with a small brown stone pillar in the middle. Water comes out of the top of the pillar and trickles into the basin.
