Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Celebrate National Kids to Parks Day at Twin Lakes. This year, Twin Lakes will is offering the following free programs, which meet at the Discovery Area, previously known as "The Spot" or the concession building:

10 a.m. - Lake Explorers 
The edges of our lakes feature a tiny world teeming with life. In this program we'll use dip nets to explore a lake ecosystem, and explain the importance of some of the wildlife we find. 

1 p.m. - 4 p.m. - Turtle Day Shellebration 
The Friends of Twin Lakes State Park is hosting its second annual shellebration of World Turtle DayTM with the following activities: turtle-themed games and face painting, a 'shellfie' station (with wearable turtle shells!), a turtle-themed craft, visits from turtle experts with live turtles, as well as meeting the beloved local shellebrity Ranger Myrtle the turtle. 

Parks are for everyone. This is an inclusive program open to all people. To ensure an enjoyable time, please alert park staff to any necessary special accommodations you or your group may need.
