Girl Scouts Love State Parks: Lake Loop Habitat Hike

Location of Hungry Mother State Park in Virginia

Where

Hungry Mother State Park, 2854 Park Blvd., Marion, VA 24354.
Spillway

When

Sept. 14, 2024. 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.

Most people are familiar with the lake habitat and the forest that surrounds it, but there are many micro-habitats that attract animals with very different needs. Follow an interpreter on a modest hike on a section of the lake loop trail to search high and low for the different habitats. We'll discuss who lives where and why as we enjoy the beauty of the park.

Wear closed-toe shoes and bring water if needed. The walk is approximately 2 mile round trip with a section being uphill.

This program will satisfy a portion of the "Outdoor Adventure" Brownie badge for Girl Scouts of America. Attend all of our Girl Scouts Love State Parks programming this weekend to complete the badge. This program will also be open to the public.
