Follow our blazes through any of our six trails or blaze your own trail on many of our lakeside scenic open areas this National Trails Day at Claytor Lake State Park. Several self-guided opportunities are available focusing on history, plant and tree identification, activities for children, and more. Please see our self-guided activity flyer. Trail Guides are located throughout the park and for download. You can also use the Avenza App for a geo-referenced map.

For a guided activity, join Master Naturalist, Judy McCord, for a Frog Hike through one of the park's wetland areas. Judy will discuss the variety of frogs found in our park and we hope to hear or spot some of them along the way. This hike will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the small parking lot between Campground B and Campground C near the Contact Station.

In recent years, our trails have seen a lot of use. If you are interested in helping to maintain or improve any of our trails please contact us
