11:00 a.m. - Howe House History Tour @ the Howe House front porch
Learn the history of the land that is now Claytor Lake State Park and of the role of natural resources in the construction of the Howe House, lake, and park. Did you know there was once a windmill behind the Howe House?
1:00 p.m. - Recycling Project @ the Discovery Room - Beach Building
Take a short walk along the lake shore and collect items that have been dropped or washed ashore. We will then discuss how long these items would last in the environment and find other uses for them. If you litter, how long will it to decompose? Hours? Days? Years? Join us to find out.

Be on the lookout for a roaming ranger with a short mini-program related to Earth Day
4:00 p.m. - Invasive Species Removal and Craft @ the Interpretive Campfire Circle in Campground D We will discuss and view some of the many invasive species found in the immediate area and then work to remove some of these invasive plants. We will then use some of the plants we remove to create craft projects.
