Belle Isle State Park, 1632 Belle Isle Rd., Lancaster, VA 22503.
Call for meeting location: 804-462-5030
When
April 14, 2022. 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Take a Walk on the Wild Side with this monthly series of true nature walks. In April, we will discover the habitats of migrating and yearlong resident animals at Belle Isle State Park. Local volunteer naturalists will share a variety of natural history topics, point out aspects of the park's many habitats (ideal for plant and animal life viewing), and provide participants with nature-photography tips should they need assistance.
The walks will be conducted at a leisurely pace to allow stops along the way to observe and discuss seasonal aspects of what is happening at the park. Be sure to dress for the weather, wear closed toe shoes appropriate for walking, and bring a water bottle. For more information or to find out where to meet for this month's hike, call the park at 804-462-5030. Pre-registration is required. Participants are encouraged to wear a face mask during the program to help ensure the safety of the volunteers, staff and other participants.
