Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Ring in the New Year with a guided hike led by Leesylvania State Park experts. Brandon Hanafin served as Chief Ranger and Assistant Park Manager at Leesylvania State Park and now manages 16 properties and 553 acres of preserved historic and natural sites for Prince William County. Jim Klakowicz has 32 years of experience with Virginia State Parks and was Leesylvania State Park's very first park manager. 

The hike will be held at two times, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. - 3 p.m., choose the time that works best for you and your family!

Meet your guides at the visitor center where you will start with a quick tour of the history museum. Then walk down the Potomac Trail, to Freestone Point, through the Lee's Woods Trail, and back to the visitor center. After, join us for light snacks and hot drinks provided by the Friends of Leesylvania. 

Dress for the weather and expect to walk about 2 miles. Leashed pets are welcome on the trails but are not allowed inside the visitor center. Not all trails are not accessible for strollers. Parking fees are waived for the day.
