Trapping encouraged early Americans to explore the wildlife inhabitants of new territories and created a way of life that was harsh, but rewarding. Today, trapping is in decline due to varying debates and public opinions, but to its practitioners, it can be a great management tool for wildlife. Many of today's animal population surveys are collected thanks to the individuals that keep this tradition alive.
Meet at the campfire pit at the back of Camp Burson and taking a short walk to discover the life of trapping and of fur-bearing animals. Please wear closed-toe shoes.
