Biking is a wonderful activity to do here in the park. Our trails and roadways are wonderful routes to use for an enjoyable ride. All of our trails are available for mountain biking. Bring your own bike, or you can rent one of ours at our Visitor Center. Rentals are $5.00 per hour, or $15.00 for 4 hours or more daily. Bikes are first-come, first-serve and include the use of a bike helmet.

If you prefer, you could follow the 8.7-mile segment of the Smith Mountain Lake Bike Route that winds through the park. This 50-mile bike route in Bedford County was created to maximize scenic views of the lake. The route is laid out along public roads, so please watch out for cars. You may obtain a map of the SML Bike Route at the Visitor Center during regular hours 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

For safety when riding, always wear your helmet and the proper footwear. Dress appropriately for the weather. Bring water, sunscreen, sunglasses and insect repellent. (Some areas of the park, including trails, are only accessible from dawn to dusk.)
