Yoga at the Lake
Lake Anna State Park is adding a new and unique program this year called Yoga at the Lake.
Enthusiasts claim that yoga helps bring balance and ease to your body, calm to your mind and spirit through physical movement, focused breathing, and guided meditations. Many claim that experiencing the beauty of nature has similar properties so combining the two sounds like a great idea.
The beach at Lake Anna State Park will be our backdrop and setting for the program
The foundation of his healing yoga classes lies within the breath using the breath to guide your movement into and out of yoga poses. This approach helps bring focus to the mind and calm to the body.
Hannah Zerphey is a practitioner of healing yoga in this tradition. Through her years of practice, yoga has helped Hannah accept and love every aspect of her body, mind, and spirit. Her experiences in and out of the yoga classroom have made her a passionate advocate in the Yoga For All movement. She truly believes that yoga is for every body." Regardless of your shape, size, age, race, gender, or ability, if you can breathe you can do yoga."
She brings this philosophy into every one of her classes; using the breath as a grounding tool and giving students the time and agency to make the practice their own.
- Our classroom will be outside overlooking the wondrous beauty of Lake Anna and its magnificent surroundings. We will do our best to be in the shade but please be prepared in case we are not and bring sunscreen, hats and sunglasses.
- Class will be held rain or shine. Bring whatever props you need to be comfortable (mat, towel, blocks, strap, etc.) or even a stable chair if you cannot sit on the ground. Bring water.
- 6-week series $60 for 6 classes or drop-in for $12 a class. Cash, check, and all major credit cards accepted.
- Contact Hannah Zerphey by email here or call (708) 870-2332 for more information and to register.
“In the practice of Yoga one can emphasize the body, the mind, or the self and hence the effort can never be fruitless.” – T.Krishnamacharya
