Where to see fireworks this 4th of July
Each year we're asked where to see fireworks when you stay a Virginia State Park over the 4th of July holiday.
This year we decided to pose this question to our Park'rs online and open it up for others to share where the great fireworks and Independence Day celebrations will be happening near our parks.
Farmville hosts Fireworks After Dark event each year
Fireworks After Dark is Farmville's annual Independence Day celebration on Wednesday July 3. Come out and celebrate with an evening filled with good music, food vendors and a spectacular firework show.
Farmville Regional Airport | 130 Wedgewood Dr, Farmville, VA
$5.00 per Vehicle at the Gate | Gates open at 4:30pm
Double Clutch Band 6pm-7:30pm | Soul Expressions 8pm-10:30pm
Coolers are Welcome | No Glass Bottles | No Pets Permitted
This event would be ideal if you're staying at these parks:
- Bear Creek Lake State Park
- Holliday Lake State Park
- Twin Lakes State Park
Please be mindful that fireworks are prohibited within our parks.
We know that traditionally Smith Mountain Lake has a huge fireworks display over the water and seen from Smith Mountain Lake State Park, Colonial Beach has one seen from Westmoreland State Park, and Jamestown has one seen from Chippokes State Park.
If you know of other fireworks displays or big Independence Day Celebrations during the first week of July near a Virginia State Park, please share a link in the comments on Facebook here. And Virginia is for Lovers has an interactive map to search here.
