Traversing High Bridge Trail is an experience you’ll want to remember……. and you'll want to get a souvenir to make sure you do.
With over 186,000 visitors in 2012 and over 130,000 already this year, people have traveled far and wide to view the historical High Bridge at High Bridge Trail State Park in central Virginia. High Bridge was an active rail line from 1853 and through the American Civil War. So, we hear you asking, "Where can I get a souvenir?"
The Friends of High Bridge Trail State Park have just released a 2014 calendar now available. Click here for a preview.

Sometimes the best souvenir is one that won’t sit on a shelf and get dust. That’s right, T-shirts. Find them at Pairet’s , Inc. on Main Street in Farmville.
T-shirts are also available at High Bridge Rails & Trails Bike Rentals located at 318 North Main Street, right off the trail. They also have a selection of mugs, satchels, and more.
Although you can’t take it with you, you can eat a High Bridge Club Sandwich at Merk’s Place on 2106 West Third Street in Farmville, about a mile west of the Farmville Train Station, right along the trail. Also on West Third Street, Miller's Country Store sells High Bridge T-shirts and miscellaneous other souvenir items.

Once you cross High Bridge, you’ll want to share your experience. And you can find a postcard of High Bridge inside the 2013 I Love Virginia State Parks guidebook. Go to any Virginia State Park to get your copy or pick one up at the Virginia Heartland Regional Visitor Center in Farmville.
After a healthy hike or bike ride on the trail, you’ve earned your right to a “Trail Club” sandwich at Walker’s Diner, located at 307 North Main Street in Farmville, right off the trail at the Farmville Plaza area where High Bridge Trail crosses Main Street. And their milk shakes are well worth the trip. If you feel guilty about this, then just hit the trail!
On your journey stop by Sailor’s Creek Battlefield Historical State Park to learn the importance of High Bridge in the American Civil War as well as viewing the famous Hillsman House and battlegrounds. Here you’ll find a unique museum and gift shop with Civil War era mementoes including High Bridge Trail State Park embroidered patches.
