What DOES the fox say?
DO YOU WANT TO KNOW?
I brought a "game cam" or "wildlife cam" as I am interested in what I cannot see at night, when the woods come alive with nocturnal animals at a Virginia State Park. I call it my "critter cam" probably because of Mike's Monday and Friday morning "critter" posts on the Virginia State Parks Facebook page.
Outside our cabin at Fairy Stone State Park were a variety of leafy trees nearly bare from dropping their fall foliage, as well as some needle trees and what caught my eye, er my foot, was a couple of wild persimmon trees dropping their fruit. I thought for sure the wildlife would enjoy the rich nutritious "kissing fruit".
I set up the critter cam and discovered this area outside our cabin was a highway of non-stop traffic all night long! It had taken hundreds of images. The date stamp showed them coming and going like ships in the night. Pretty much from the time we retired to the cabin for the evening.
"Huh, did you say something Marge?"
Apparently the fox says* "We love Virginia State Parks!"
I state my case; there were plenty of 4-legged things that went bump in the night outside our cabin! Another reason to make sure your pet is on a leash, even when they head out just to go potty. Rabies is a real threat in Virginia, so keep your family and pets safe, and enjoy wildlife at a distance! It can be a lot of fun.
THERE ARE 36 VIRGINIA STATE PARKS TO CHOOSE FROM, WHERE DO YOU WANT TO GO?
*If you are wondering about the title, if you do not know, ask a teen or tween in your household or family "What does the fox say?" and you will soon find out. Or you could always Google it.
