Waggin' Trails: Time to Get the Dawgs Out Yawl
Hey yawl, Mum told me that Virginia State Barks are gearin' up for the season and are invitin' ever-body out for funzies wunzies. This is very excitin' and reminded me of the time Dad and I rented a boat and went all around the lake at Hungry Mother State Bark.
Summertime is a-comin'
Dad and me Junie B* rented a canoe at Hungry Mother State Bark
We really had a great time at Hungry Mother State Bark because we rented a canoe from the concessionaire and got to go out on the water, which you can't do normally if you are a dawg. No dawgs allowed on the swimmin' beach. I thought this was so cool. I wanted to paddle my own canoe, I heard Mum say that before, but Dad just laughed and said "Get in!"
They have kayaks, canoes, SUP, electric motorized Jon boats, and even paddle boats to rent (why aren't they called peddle boat? And a few have covered tops so you won't get all burnt up). They are available Memorial Day through Labor Day and on weekends through October, weather permittin'.
Rent one of these to get out on the water this summer at Virginia State Bark
Nice seasonal staff member helped us launch our canoe - sorry photo is crooked, don't have thumbs
We paddled around the lake for an hour or so and got to see parts of it Dad had ne'er seen
Paddle yer own canoe, if ya can!
I liked these sparkly boats, Dad thought I might fall out of it and my legs are too short to peddle
These families were sure havin' funzies in the paddle boats
Dawgs just wanna have fun in the sun at Virginia State Barks
They give you a lifejacket to wear (I didn't need one I doggy paddle really well). But Dad kept tryin' to not wear his properly, I told him that was unsafe and to "Buckle Up Buckaroo!" so he finally fixed it.
"Buckle up buckaroo for safety!" I always tell Dad
Then when we thought he could rest from paddlin' and use his cell phone I warned him that it could end up in the water, and told him "Both hands on the oar Dad," and he put it away.
Dad can be obedient, sometimes, but not all of the time, so I have to watch him like a hawk. And besides, I was not really in the mood for a swim that day. Mum was waitin' for us back at The Restaurant, probably eatin' bacon.
Paddlin' and textin' don't mix,
Unless you wanna lose your phone in the lake!
Come on check out Hungry Mother State Bark near Marion Virginia
If you wanna visit Hungry Mother State Bark then you should tell your family to click here. You can visit this bark for the day, or stay longer when yawl overnight in a cabin or campground.
Remember, paws were meant to get muddy,
And if they aren't then yawl aren't tryin' hard 'nough!
