Decorate your campsite for Halloween on October 28 at Chippokes State Park
YOU COULD WIN
2 FREE NIGHTS OF CAMPING
On October 28, 2017 decorate your campsite in a ghoulish way to offer candy to the park’s trick-or-treaters. The campsite that is most spook-tacular will win 2 nights free camping at any Virginia State Park.
Those campsites that wish to compete must participate in the trick-or-treating to be qualified.
Trick-or-treating is open to the general public and the parking fee will be waived for those wishing to participate.
Before the trick-or-treating there will be a Halloween Costume Contest. Youth up to 12 years in age are invited to dress up in their favorite costume and gather together.
A panel of judges will be on hand to select the best costume. Meet behind Bathhouse A at 6 pm for the costume contest, trick-or-treating to follow until 7 pm.
At 7 p.m., find out if your campsite was voted best decorated as our panel of judges award a special prize to the winning site.
There will be other special Halloween programs offered during the weekend and throughout October. Including a program about the importance of slime, a Harvest Festival, a candlelit tour of historic Quarter Lane, and many more programs. See the Chippokes Events Calendar for more details.
Chippokes State Park is located in Surry County Virginia, just across the river from Historic Jamestown.
