WHY DO WE S'MORE?

Oddly enough s'mores is in wiki, and it states

A s'more (sometimes spelled smore) is a traditional nighttime campfire treat popular in the United States and Canada consisting of a roasted marshmallow and a layer of chocolate sandwiched between two pieces of graham cracker. (Canada? I am wondering about this as most of our Canadian friends have never made s'mores).

Entomology and Origins

S'more appears to be a contraction of the phrase, "some more". While the origin of the dessert is unclear, the first recorded version of the recipe can be found in the publication "Tramping and Trailing with the Girl Scouts" of 1927. The recipe is credited to Loretta Scott Crew, who reportedly made them by the campfire for the Scouts. It is unknown whether the Girl Scouts were the first to make s'mores, but there appears to be no earlier claim to this snack. Although it is unknown when the name was shortened, recipes for "Some Mores" are in various Girl Scout publications until at least 1973.

And because of this love for s'mores Hershey came out with a s'mores candy bar and even Pop Tart has a s'mores variety! 

Why do we love s'mores so much?

Is it the poking sharp sticks into a crackling fire? Or is it the combustion method, wherein the marshmallow ignites into a flaming ball of fire? Or perhaps when we realize that by firelight we are purposefully melting chocolate bars in our bare hands with molten puffs of mallow?

That s'mores are all the good things in life, a s'more is the epitome of what it means to be loved, and belong. Now bear with me... Think about it for a moment, what do you associate with s'mores?

Yes, me too. I am not even a fan of graham crackers, but I sure love s'mores (Hint: for your next campout - you can use store-bought chocolate chip cookies in lieu of graham crackers and they are even better!)
