Raft Up!
"Raft Up! Boat Over! All Clear!"
Learn to kayak!
Those were some of the commands I learned recently during a kayak training program at False Cape State Park. While I attended the training to find ways to improve our programming and training, others were there to become certified "Flat Water Kayak Guides." Our group included Virginia State Park employees, volunteers, interns and even a Conservation Officer from the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. After eight hours on the water flipping our boats over, practicing one and two-person rescue methods, and learning paddling techniques we were all ready for a break!!
