Pork, Peanut & Pine Festival Music Schedule Announced
Grab the lawn chairs, bring your walking shoes, and get ready to celebrate Virginia agricultural heritage! The 40th annual Pork, Peanut, and Pine Festival is July 18-19, 2015 at Chippokes State Park and they have a great line-up of music, a BBQ cook-off contest, food vendors, artisanal crafters, kid's games, and outdoor activities.
Headlining the event this year will be the Kentucky Headhunters taking the stage from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2015.
Grammy-winning Kentucky Headhunters will headline the Pork, Peanut and Pine Festival at Chippokes State Park on July 18-19, 2015.

10 a.m. Opening Ceremonies
10 a.m. - 11 a.m.: The Lena Klett Band
11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Nansemond River Boys
12:30 p.m. - 1 p.m. Festival Parade
1 p.m. - 2 p.m. Flatland Bluegrass Band
3 p.m. - 5 p.m. Kentucky Headhunters

There will be over 225 artisan craft vendors, food trucks featuring southern specialties, and tours of the historic Jones-Stewart mansion and Farm & Forestry Museum, demonstrations in the historic brick kitchen, and walks through the formal gardens.
Food vendors will have tasty southern dishes like this pork loin with fresh corn on the cob.
Don't forget your bathing suits and fishing gear. Chippokes State Park also features an Olympic size swimming pool, riverside beach area for wading, and College Run Creek for great fishing. Bring the whole family for a fun day of southern heritage and outdoor adventures.
A tour of the Farm & Forest Museum will bring history to life.
Chippokes State Park is located in Surry, Virginia on the James River. Start the day off with a novel ride on the Jamestown Scotland car ferry from Jamestown to Surry. Admission to the festival is $5 per person; children 10 and under are free. More information can be found on the festival website: www.porkpeanutpinefestival.org.
