October 22nd will see Paws In The Park come to Staunton River State Park

The Woman’s Club of Halifax County has been hard at work to bring this event to the park.  Postponed once due to the tornado that hit the park in April, we are all looking forward to this special event!

Staunton River State Park is pet friendly!

Pooches enjoy playing in the park too!

There will be a 5K Poker Run/Walk, and 1 mile Children’s Fun Run, a Kiddie Doggie Walk, and Doggie Contests for costumes and cool tricks.  There is a charge for each event and preregistration is available for all events.  You will also be able to rent a dog for the event from the Paws & Claws SPCA of Halifax County.  The fee for the rental will be deducted should you decide that you can’t live without your new best friend and file the paperwork for adoption that day!

So come on out to the park starting at 1 PM on October 22nd.  Bring your best friend and the family.  Take a walk, enjoy a run, see the contests and maybe win some prizes.  The event will go on rain or shine. We let Mother Nature stop us once, but not this time!  There are great prizes to be won, including a first place prize for a 2 night cabin stay in the park.  The rest of the prizes will be announced the day of the event.  Proceeds from this event will go to the Halifax County Cancer Association for Breast Cancer and the Paws & Claws SPCA of Halifax County.
