During the month of May, Pocahontas State Park is offering a series of homeschool programs that feature hands-on, interactive discussions, guided hikes and activities based on program topics.

Children attending Habitats and Animal Inns will learn about places animals call home here at the park. We will learn about nests, dreys, snags, fallen logs, and more. We will look at some animal homes in the Nature Center and then venture outdoors to see what we can find and who may be home.  Habitats and Animal Inns will be held on Wednesday, May 4th from 10 a.m. to noon.

Who eats who? Predator or prey? is program that concentrates on different animals and what they eat to survive. We will engage in activities to see what plants and animals provide the most energy on our "menu". Who eats who? Predator or prey? will be held on Wednesday, May 11th, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Come test your ability to find animals who utilize camouflage, mimicry, poison and more to stay alive and thrive in our natural world by attending Survival Adaptations. This program will be held on Wednesday, May 18th from 10 a.m. to noon.
