Want a new challenge and to catch bigger fish? Try your luck with muskie on the New River near New River Trail State Park.

The muskellunge "Muskie" is one of the largest and most elusive fish that swims. Fish can be caught year round.

There are several factors to consider when trying your hand at this fish: water temperature, weather conditions, and location.  Overcast and dreary days may be better for catching these monsters of the river, and they prefer vegetative locations, which may help you in catching these beautiful fish.

Boat access at the Foster Falls area of New River Trail State Park is a popular launching area for fisherman looking for a catch.
