Music on the Cliffs Summer Concert Series 2015
Visit the beautiful Westmoreland State Park, sit back and listen to great live music and have the Potomac River as the back drop every 3rd Saturday from June until September all at no extra charge.
Imagine a warm summer breeze high up on the cliffs overlooking the Potomac River as music flows through the evening. Sound like a great way to spend a Saturday night? Then pack a picnic, grab a lawn chair and join the Friends of Westmoreland State Park as they present, “Music on the Cliffs” a summer concert series.
First to kick off the season this year is Josh Grigsby and County Line band on June 20th. We promise you will not be able to sit still as your toes will be tapping to the sweet sounds of the very best tunes in bluegrass and country.
On July 18th, Westmoreland State Park welcomes Jon Bachman and Michael Such. Spend the evening listening to the relaxing sounds of folk and country from yesterday and today’s top of the chart favorites.
Next up on August 15th are local favorites, Black Coffee and Heavy Cream (pictured right). R&B, Jazz and Rock and Roll. What more could you ask for? Smooth sounds and great beats that offer something for just about everyone’s musical tastes.
Finishing up the Summer Concert Series on September 19th this year will be Black Thorn Shillelagh, an Irish Gaelic band. Such an exciting and lively band, you will not be able to sit still. So get your "River Dance” on and join the fun.
The concerts are staged behind Westmoreland State Park’s Visitor Center. The field is located 200 feet up on the cliffs overlooking the Potomac River. What a way to spend a summer evening, that's perfect for couples and families alike.
Concerts are every 3rd Saturday from June to September, the line-up again for 2015:
- June 20th - Josh Grigsby and County Line band
- July 18th - Jon Bachman and Michael Such
- August 15th - Black Coffee and Heavy Cream
- September 19th - Black Thorn Shillelagh
Concerts are behind the Visitor Center near the cliffs (don't worry there is a fence)

"Music on the Cliffs" is sponsored by the Friends of Westmoreland State Park. The "Friends" are a nonprofit Citizens Support Organization that helps to fund programs at the park. While there is no fee for the music, donations are always welcome.
