If you are looking for something special to do for Mother's Day weekend, we have some ideas for you.

Several parks have special Mother's Day themed events scheduled for May 12 and 13. See a list here. From a concert at Belle Isle State Park, wildflower walks at a number of parks, to a day of fun activities on Saturday at Smith Mountain Lake State Park, mom will definitely feel special.

The Restaurant at Hungry Mother State Park is famous for its Mother Day's brunch (call for reservations) and the Lakeview Restaurant at Douthat State Park is a great location for casual dining overlooking the lake.
