Every sweet adventure begins with a trusty blanket at your side. Just ask Linus!
On February 11th between 11:00a.m. – 3:00p.m. at Leesylvania State Park come spend some time with Linus in Candyland as we turn fleece material in to blankets with only a pair of scissors. Bring your favorite candy to share and a pair of scissors to help us make blankets for children who need the security and warmth a blanket provides as they journey through difficult times.
We are also asking for donations of fleece material with child appropriate designs that have been pre-washed and cut in to sections of either 1 yard or 1.5 yards. We will be using this material to make our blankets. Donations of fabric can be brought to the Visitor Center Fri - Sun 10a.m.-4p.m. If you cannot make it to this event please consider supporting this cause through a fabric donation.

Project Linus Event from this past July
This program is being offered in cooperation with the Loudoun County Chapter of the nonprofit organization Project Linus. Project Linus’ mission statement is to “provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer ‘blanketeers’.” Since beginning in 1995, Project Linus has donated more than 3 million blankets to needy children across the United States.
Look Charlie Brown, you have fears and you have frustrations, am I right? Of course I'm right! So what you need is a blanket like this to soak up those fears and frustrations!
