Just Fishin'

By Shellie AnnePosted August 23, 2011

Have you have heard the latest Trace Adkins hit "Just Fishin"? It's a whopper, a big'in.

Like many of his songs, he touches on the importance of family being family. If I had to choose a theme song for Virginia State Parks I would choose this song! (Listen to the song here on youtube as you read this article)

Growing up my fondest memories were of being outside with my Grandpa in the Sierra Nevada Mountains or fishing a lake with my Dad. My Dad is still an avid fisherman, he goes after the big'ins off the Outer Banks in the Gulf Stream. But It all began camping and fishing along the creek shore, on a dock or from a little boat. We hold dear the memories and old photographs of Grandpa, always chasing the big one that got away, and catching a few himself!

But little did I know, at the time as a little girl in pigtails, that maybe it was more than just fishin'...

Just Fishin' (the main chorus to this song) by Trace Adkins

And she thinks we’re just fishin’ on the riverside
Throwin’ back what we could fry
Drownin’ worms and killin’ time
Nothin’ too ambitious
She ain’t even thinkin’ ‘bout
What’s really goin’ on right now
But I guarantee this memory’s a big’in
And she thinks we’re just fishin’

She ain’t even thinkin’ ‘bout
What’s really goin’ on right now
But I guarantee this memory’s a big’in
And she thinks we’re just fishin’
Yeah, aww, she thinks we’re just fishin’
We ain’t only fishin’
(This ain’t about fishin’)
