As the weather is getting cooler and the sun is going down quicker, we can all get in the spirit for the carnival that is coming Staunton River Battlefield this year.

You are invited out on Saturday October 28, 2017 for the super fun Staunton River Battlefield State Park Halloween Carnival.

Experience Fall at Staunton River Battlefield State Park

When closing your eyes you can picture everything perfectly by hearing all of the children playing games and giggling as they get their faces painted, prizes being handed out, the clicking of the camera in the photo booth, and so much more.

You really won't want to miss this fun, family friendly carnival this year, and it all starts at 4:00 p.m. and goes until 8:30 p.m. 

Admission is $5 per perso, and refreshments will be available.

• The games, contests, face painting, photo booth and more will begin at the start of the event, which your whole family can enjoy. 
• Then, at 6 p.m. The Farm Use String Band will be taking the stage to entertain the guests with some songs of the Civil War.
• Finally, the nightmare wagon rides, that you won’t be able to forget, start at 6:30 p.m.

Grab Your Seat to Experience the Farm Use String Band 

The Farm Use String Band performace will be performed as part of the Routes of Rhythm Music Trail. The band will start performing at 6 p.m. and will be playing songs of the Civil War. So, grab your seat and get ready to enjoy the show.

The Farm Use String Band is made up of a seven piece band. The old time music that they perform is music with history as old as our heritage. The style of music involves plucking strings to create beautiful music and is sure to have your foot tapping. Music was simply just a part of life during the civil war, but the traditions were passed down from generation to generation.

Routes of Rhythm Music Trail is a Virginia State Parks Collaborative effort between the state parks of the central and southern regions of Virginia to provide quality music events, educational programming and authentic experiences that tell the story of the creation and proliferation of American music.
