As summer comes to an end that doesn’t mean the fun has to come to an end too. Fall is full of cooler weather, leaves changing colors, roasting marshmallows, and of course fall festivals.
We all have busy schedules, but it’s important to set aside time to enjoy family fun activities. So, mark your calendars for one of these fall festivals at a Virginia State Park in the central Virginia area.

FALL FESTIVALS IN CENTRAL VIRGINIA
- October 7 - Powhatan State Park - Fourth Annual Festival
- October 20 & 21 - Twin Lakes State Park - Haunting on the Lake
- October 21 - Twin Lakes State Park - Fall for Twin Lakes Festival
- October 21 - James River State Park - Fall Harvest Festival and Night 5K Trail Run
- October 21 - Pocahontas State Park - Park After Dark
- October 31 - High Bridge Trail State Park - Pumpkins on the Plaza

Powhatan State Park will be hosting their Fourth Annual Festival on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Fall festivals are where visitors create memories that will last a lifetime
Twin Lakes State Park will be hosting their annual Haunting on the Lake event on Friday, October 20 and Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. They will also be hosting the Fall for Twin Lakes Festival on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
James River State Park will also be hosting a fall festival this year too. This festival is called Fall Harvest Festival and Night 5K Trail Run on Saturday, October 21 from 1:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Mark your calendar to make a trip to a Virginia State Park fall festival
Pocahontas State Park will be hosting their Park After Dark event on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
High Bridge Trail State Park will be hosting Pumpkins on the Plaza on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Each of these fall festivals offer different fun experiences: like hayrides, candle dipping, apple pressing, candy maze, pumpkin patches, apple sling-shots, live music, trick-or-treating, hot cider, face painting and a haunted trail. So, grab your friends and family and come out to a Virginia State Park this fall.
