Day Trip to Mason Neck
Meet Interpretive Rangers at the new Visitor Center at Mason Neck State Park. We will show you where you can spot the eagles, osprey and red tailed hawks in the park. We also have displays for the kids and activities to keep you busy, even on rainy days.

After bird watching, take a gander through other interesting areas of the Visitor Center. We have information on lots of other species too. Did you know the box turtle is a threatened species and should not be kept as a pet? Ever see a Piebald Deer?

Stick around till noon and bring your lunch. We'll meet you at the picnic area for the "Birds of a Feather" program. Rangers will bring real feathers and teach you which birds are which. Top your visit off at 2 pm, with our "Lost & Found GPS Adventure". We'll show you how to navigate using this small hand held device and then send you on your way to find hidden caches around the park. Highly recommended to those that enjoy exploring in nature.

Getting tired yet? Well you can come back Sunday for more!
There is a lot to see and learn by visiting the park, so bring your kids, friends, or come alone and enjoy a day of nature and wildlife.
