One of Central Virginia's Best Haunted Trails
One of the area’s best haunted trails returns for its ninth season with two weekends of terror!
Twin Lakes State Park’s Haunting On the Lake will be open Friday and Saturday, October 26-27, 2018. The trail winds for a half-mile of horror through the forests of Prince Edward-Gallion. (Sorry, the Haunting on the Lake is canceled for Oct. 19-20 due to Hurricane Michael cleanup efforts).
Haunted hikes begin each night at 7 p.m. and the last hike starts at 10 p.m. each night. Tickets are $10 per person/per hike and are available in advance at the park office or for purchase the day of at the concession stand near the swimming beach beginning at 7 p.m.
A note to our family visitors, this trail is spooky and not recommended for children under 13. For more child appropriate Halloween fun, don't miss the Fall for Twin Lakes Festival.
Actors and Volunteers Welcome
In order to pull off any great event, we rely on the help of our volunteers. Generally, we begin working on the trail, props, and scenes in the two weeks leading up to the event. So, even if you can’t physically be there on the nights the trail is running, there are still opportunities to help us out. No experience is necessary—just have a good attitude and a decent pair of hiking shoes. From actors and makeup artists to carpenters and trail guides, everyone has something special to offer.
This is a great opportunity for local student groups and organizations to earn some volunteer hours.
