Last summer many of our First Landing State Park visitors received a survey asking if they would be interested in public transportation to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. The response was positive so Hampton Roads Transit has added line 35 to the Virginia Beach Wave routes

Ride The Wave from First Landing State Park the the Virginia Beach oceanfront

The stop at the park is located behind the main contact station on the beach and campground side of Shore Drive. There is a bus stop sign there. The schedule is designed for the most popular beach season:

Daily, May 21 – Labor Day, 8:00 a.m. until Midnight, every 45 minutes; Fri-Sat-Sun, September 8 – October 1, 8:00 a.m. until Midnight, every 45 minutes.

While the map below (PDF) does not show any of the stops, you can use their Google Maps Trip Planner to find the stop you need to reach your destination.

Fares are listed below. It is important to note that The Wave only accepts cash. However, there are locations around the resort area where you can buy the passes. So leave your car parked, reduce your carbon footprint, skip the traffic, forget about needing a designated driver, and have fun exploring the Virginia Beach resort strip while you stay at First Landing State Park.
