This year National Kids to Parks Day has become National Parks to Kids Day. We are bringing 8 parks (and 2 back yards) to you!

We have a full day of programming for you. We’ll take you on a kayak trip, cook up some good food, enjoy a kids art show, and as always have fun while learning. Check out the schedule of events here https://www.dcr.virginia.gov/state-parks/kids-to-parks-day#calendar.

Parker welcomes you to Parks to Kids Day

An official welcome from Ranger Parker Redfox to Parks to Kinds Day!

Ranger Parker Redfox plans to picnic on Saturday, May 16 from noon to 1 p.m. We invite you to join people from across the Commonwealth for a Picnic with Parker in your living room or on your lawn. Check-in with us on Facebook to let us know you are picnicking too! Don’t forget to snap a picture of your family enjoying their picnic feast. Tag it with #picnicwithparker and share it on the Virginia State Parks' Facebook page during the picnic. If you would like to participate, follow along, or just try the projects out at a future time, here are the supplies you will need.

We would love more beautiful art for our Kids Virtual Art Gallery. Create artwork inspired by your visits to Virginia State Parks.

If you are 17 or under, and want to be featured in our Virtual Art Gallery, create a drawing, painting, or other work of art featuring your favorite thing in your favorite Virginia State Park. Let your memories inspire you to create a boat, an animal, a sunset or even a Park Ranger. When your masterpiece has been completed, take a high-resolution photo of your artwork and email it as an attachment to parkstokidsartvsp@gmail.com with your parents permission and help.

Please make sure you include your first name, your age, and a little bit about your art. All submissions are due by Friday, May 15, 2020.
