Bird Banding at Kiptopeke State Park
Shared by Brian Morris, as Guest Blogger.
The fall migration of songbirds on the East Coast is almost here!
If you've ever wondered what types of birds travel through the Eastern Shore of Virginia, your chance to learn about these birds is coming from August 8th, 2012 till November 12th, 2012 at Kiptopeke State Park.

Come research the songbirds of Kiptopeke!
Join volunteers from the Coastal Virginia Wildlife Observatory as they conduct songbird research at the Songbird Banding Station during the Fall migration. The program times are 7:00 a.m. till 12:00 p.m.

This is a fun, educational and kid-friendly program!
The bird banding program at Kiptopeke State Park is also a great opportunity for a school field trip or an exciting group event. So, teachers, bring your students, and everyone else bring all your friends out to Kiptopeke State Park this Fall for the songbird migration!
This program is weather permitting and may be canceled due to rain and/or high winds. For information about fees, group reservations and the program, please call the Kiptopeke State Park main office at 757-331-2267.
