Okay, I might be a Baby Boomer but I still think our Virginia State Parks are cool enough (okay maybe there is a more current word for cool) to attract the Millennial Generation. But I also understand that they probably won't enjoy an oldER woman telling them about how great the parks are. That's why we need Ambassadors!

This summer we hosted 3 Outdoor Nation Summits for Ambassadors. Here they explore the Natural Tunnel.

An Ambassador is age 16 to 28, probably already likes outdoor recreation or would like to learn more about our State Parks, and would like to share their experiences with pictures, videos, short articles, and through social media.

Thanks to the Coca-Cola Foundation and Stihl, we have some great prizes to help us recruit 2,000 new ambassadors across the country. While some ambassadors in Virginia are ambassadors for a particular state park, we are recruiting at large ambassadors who can visit any of our country's state parks and share their experiences.

Read all about it on the America's State Parks website.

We have some great Ambassadors sharing Virginia State Parks experiences. Check them out here. In fact, we have an Ambassador Coordinator, Elizabeth Stapleton. She would be happy to work with you to sign up. Read her article on why she is an Ambassador here. You can email her here.

This is a national program coordinated by America's State Parks and representing all the state park systems across the country. Did you know there are nearly 8,000 state parks?
