Have you ever wondered how to find a specific amenity at a Virginia State Park? With more than 3 dozen parks across the commonwealth, varying from day use parks to overnight, from boating, fishing, to miles and miles of the best mountain biking in Virginia, we think we can assist you with your travel planning.

We want you to get the most out of your visit to us, so there is a really cool feature on the state parks website that allows you to search by amenity, i.e. boat rentals, yurts, fishing piers, equestrian trails, etc.

FIND WHUZZUP

ACCESS

To access this great feature go to the Virginia State Parks website here and then you will see on the top tool bar to the right "Find your park" click on that to begin your search. Then from there you will see a yellow box to the left of the Virginia map "What would you like to do? Search by amenity."

SEARCH

To search for Biking Trails, just click on that box, if you want a specific area (select that region at the bottom of the page or leave it as "Select all regions" to bring up biking trails at all Virginia State Parks.

Check the box or boxes for the amenities you want. You may broaden your search by selecting a group of amenities. This will display parks that have any of the amenities in that group. The basic directions are found at the top of the page.

You may also limit your search to certain park regions in Virginia by checking "clear all regions" then select the corresponding boxes you want just beneath the map. Your results will show up in a box on the right side of the page. Each box you tick or select will break down the results for you.

HAPPENINGS

To search our events database to find interesting programs and fun activities at your favorite Virginia State Park, click here. From there you can select the dates of your visit (or search for a string of dates), and check the park or the type of activity you are interested in.

These may be nature programs, festivals, self-guided activities, fishing, concerts or even national events like: Earth Day, National Kids to Parks Day, Clean the Bay, and National Get Outdoors Days. 

Come on out and celebrate over 80 years of family, friends and fun at your favorite Virginia State Park.
