Resting among the trees at James River State Park the Kids Discovery Area awaits the arrival of children of all ages. Containing a plethora of interactive stations for children to explore, there is sure to be something that will interest your children and provide exercise for their bodies and minds.

The Kids Discovery Area came from an idea from a Park Ranger at James River State Park when he took his kids to a natural play area in Lexington. From there an idea became reality. Construction and even some of the design work was done by college students who devoted their Spring Break to helping out James River State Park.

LOCATION: Buckingham County. From U.S. 60 West, turn right onto Route 605 (Riverside Dr.) at the James River Bridge. Travel seven miles, then turn left onto Route 606.
